Default YES

That will submit the drive train to extra stress due too unequal wheel speeds created by different tire diameters. My $0.02

Your front wheels will be rolling at a different speed than your rear ones, something in the middle is going to be taking up the stress of this difference, and that is going to be your Torsen differential. It is completely mechanical, like a gearbox. A clutch system like the TT haldex could probably absorb more abuse, but differing tire sizes are still not recommended.

Anyway, the reason to run different size tires (basically only on a RWD car) is to give a larger contact patch to the drive wheels. You have FOUR drive wheels on a Quattro car thus no need for difference, unless its for entirely aesthetic reasons. And I'll reserve my opinion if that's the case.

His question was about "tire sizes" Does he mean width? or diameter? you assumed diameter.

Default If tire width is different, then aspect ratio has to be different...or else...

All correct. Keep tire/wheel size the same.
