Does your trip computer avg speed match the spedometer?

Does your trip computer avg speed match the spedometer?
Ok I was on a long trip over the holidays (630 miles RT) and being bored on the long drive I started playing with the trip computer... one thing i did was to see how closely it is matched to the spedometer. First I set the cruise control at exactly 70 mph, then reset the average speed in the computer. Oddly enough, it registered 68 mph! and kept it there... So i then set cruise at about 72-73 mph... reset the computer, and then it showed 70mph!
So is the trip computer off or the spedometer? the car is going in for some minor stuff next week, may have them take a look at it.. anyone else notice or try this?
