I dont understand why people do not get the plate mounted but then they look for alt for putting it on. If your gonna run a front plate what the difference it its drilled. I told dealership not to drill becasue im leaving the plate off.

Default Some show their car

And some states are not very forgiving when it comes to plate laws.

Default heres how you get around it in CA

VC-5200.

When two license plates are issued by the department for a vehicle, they shall be attached to the vehicle for which they were issued, one in the front and the other in the rear.

When one license plate is issued for use upon a vehicle, it shall be attached to the rear thereof.

so...if im ever pulled over...1 was only issued one plate..

thats my story and im sticking with it

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d03/vc5200.htm</a

Default Nice Reconnaissance, but will a cop really buy it? On our trucks, we usually carry...

the front plate in the truck and if we get pulled over, "I bumped a pole and the mounting bracket broke. I am planning on replacing it this weekend."

DMV sends everyone 2 plates. Cop? FEAR the judge: he'll hurt you.

Default All cars in CA are issued two plates...

Therefore according to 5200 V.C. you have to have BOTH plates securely fasted to your vehicle. 1 plate stipulation only applies to motorcycles since motorcycles(considered a motor vehicle) are only issued 1 license plate.

I honestly think if you told that story to a LE, he might laugh all the way back to KK.

Default Just got a speeding ticket lastweek, and the CHP also tagged me for no front plates.................

The No Front Plate violation is a "Fix It" fine where you just show your car at the station with your front plate installed and they will waive off that fine from your ticket...............Then its up to you if you want to remove it again and wait for another "fixit" fine.
