VC-5200.
When two license plates are issued by the department for a vehicle, they shall be attached to the vehicle for which they were issued, one in the front and the other in the rear.
When one license plate is issued for use upon a vehicle, it shall be attached to the rear thereof.
so...if im ever pulled over...1 was only issued one plate..
thats my story and im sticking with it<ul><li><a href="http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d03/vc5200.htm">http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d03/vc5200.htm</a</li></ul>

the front plate in the truck and if we get pulled over, "I bumped a pole and the mounting bracket broke. I am planning on replacing it this weekend."

Therefore according to 5200 V.C. you have to have BOTH plates securely fasted to your vehicle. 1 plate stipulation only applies to motorcycles since motorcycles(considered a motor vehicle) are only issued 1 license plate.
I honestly think if you told that story to a LE, he might laugh all the way back to KK.

The No Front Plate violation is a "Fix It" fine where you just show your car at the station with your front plate installed and they will waive off that fine from your ticket...............Then its up to you if you want to remove it again and wait for another "fixit" fine.
