Default Door panel and speaker grile removal instructions?

Anyone got 'em? I'm replacing front door speakers for now and don't want to mess up getting the grilles and panel off.
Thanks!

A real pain. 1) get a repair CD and 2) look up "8E0 868 243" for my posts in Audio.

Default The grills don't come off.....

The entire panel pops off, then youc an remove the tweeters. Look in tech articles for my detailed stereo upgrade install.....

Default Thanks for the input. does a standard door pulling tool work with these doors?

If you didn't have one when you pulled your doors, do you think it would've helped? Or did you break clips because you didn't have one?
I've had broken clips on other cars, but after using the tool never had a problem again. I'm more interested in knowing where any screws are... there are always some hidden that you "MF" to death when you can't figure out where they are.

Default I didn't use a door pulling tool...

The factory repair guide calls for a VAG tool that looks like a flat head screwdriver wit hhte tip bent down (forgot the part number for it).

I don't think a tool will help you save the clips. They're cheap, you can get them at any VW or Audi dealer, they are no biggie.

As for the screws:
You need to remove the alu/wood/fiberglass trim piece first (it's just clipped on), all the screws are under it and there is one more under the armrest. Then the whole door panel pulls off.

Good luck!

Default You can use that tool to help pry out the bottom of the pannel. Watch out - there's a...

...screw at the very bottom of the front doors. It's in really tight so be careful not to strip the head.

Ah right, the Bentley doesn't show that one either, but it's there nevertheless.....

Just another Bentley gotcha. Still wonder why it was in there so tight (that's been "fixed").
