A muffler shop in my area made one for the front trac ...
It removes the factory cat and replaces it with a high flow cat. The O2 sensor is relocated further down on the pipe so that it will not throw any codes. With a full custom catback, it made 24HP to the wheels. I'm currently working with them to make one for my quattro.

Please excuse my ignorance on the topic of mufflers and exhaust systems...
What exacly is the downpipe? You guys are not talking about the whole exhaust from front to back right?

The downpipe is the part of the exhaust that comes off the turbo and connects to the cat and mid section pipe.

Interesting. Is there a good website to review the details of the 1.8T? .....
It doesn't have to be the exact configuration in the A4. I just want to educate myself on this great little engine.
