Downshifting/Flooring...bad smell

Downshifting/Flooring...bad smell
Everytime I downshift from 5th to 4th or when I floor the gas pedel at 5th..I smell something coming from the engine bay. This usually happens around 80-100 mph. I have a 1.8TQM Stock! I am using amsoil synthetic. Any ideas??? TIA!

If it smells like burning wax it could be the clutch, if it smells like sulpher it could be that the
Bpv or the vaccum hose is blown and it is running rich. At least that is what 2 bad smells turned out to be on my car.

Actually it smells like I ran over a skunk...(more)
I usually don't push my car that hard..I'll pay more attention to it the next time I do it. Hope it not one of those senerios you metioned =/
