Default Driver door power failure, such a pain when its gets hot and windows dont open

At this point in time I have no:
1. No power windows
2. No door mirror power control,
3. No power to the central locking actuation on the door lock.
4. No sensing of the lock position.
5. No illumination of the door switches.

The speakers in the door are okay, they make sound fine.

Is there an earth cable that might be loose somewhere? Where do I start looking to fix this? I'm trying to see where I should start looking for the issues. I'll be putting the vag-com on this evening, but I've a feeling that'll just confirm no contact to the switches etc.

At least I can lock the driver's door manually, but the alarm isn't arming as it can't see the door lock state.

Door jamb harness wires are frayed / detached (in the rubber accordian cover). Detach the rubber cover on the 'body' side, carefully pull back, you should see some severed wires. Since the existing wires are too short to I just used some extra wire to splice the ends together.

Last time I saw was three wires cut, so i might just tape them back together with electric tape if its possible. IS THERE ANYWAY TO TAKE OFF THE RUBBER? ALSO I DONT HAVE TO OPEN THE WHOLE DOOR PANEL AGAIN RIGHT?

Based on all my reading, electrical tape is a very temporary fix, if you can even get it to work. You should go ahead and replace the harness. Not that difficult a job.
