I'm in the market for an automatic four door car and being a former S4 owner I had to look at the new A4. I've never owned an automatic German car and for that matter, I've never driven one. I was not impressed with the quattro 3.0 auto. IMO the shifting seemed erratic and lacked the smooth timing I would have expected. Then I drove the front wheel drive CVT and I was very impressed with the trany. This is what I was expecting from an automatic Audi. The new styling is growing on me, but I'm not 100% sold. I drove a 330ci yesterday and what a nice ride that BMW was, but I believe it's over priced.

Any idea on when CVT will be incorporated with the Quattro?<ul><li><a href="http://www.photoaccess.com/share/guest.jsp?ID=A26A30223D5&cb=PA">The Fun Car</a></li></ul>

Last year Audi said that CVT would be available for Quattro within 2 years.
