DTC 17545 - P1137
Car:
2002 Audi A4 2.0
Engine code: ALT
Hi guys,
I have a DTC and it says:
1 Fault Found:
17545 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Add): System too Rich
P1137 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - Intermittent
according to rosstech:
Possible Causes
* Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor faulty
* Fuel Pressure Regulator faulty
* Fuel Injector(s) faulty
* Oxygen Sensor Control faulty
o Oxygen Sensor(s) faulty
* Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System faulty
Possible Solutions
* Check Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor
* Check Fuel Pressure Regulator
* Check Fuel Injector(s)
* Check Oxygen Sensor Control
o Check Oxygen Sensor(s)
* Check Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System
I reset the code approx. every week now
noticed it comes on mostly at idle
Also noticed that the crankcase breather hose hase a crack in it.
Would this explain the DTC? Also poor acceleration.. Vacuum issue?
Apart from that the car has no problems and has always been well serviced.
Is it alot of work to replace that hose?? dealers over here (Amsterdam) charge me about 225euro for workmanship.

Vacuum leaks can cause lean and rich running conditions depending on driving conditions (under boost, idle, etc, etc). Vacuum lines are usually pretty easy to replace. Which lines are you trying to replace?

Oh, Amsterdam. Hoe gaat het? My Dutch is very broken and slow, but my wife started life speaking Dutch...last name was Doodeheefver. Visited your lovely city as well as Enschede and Bloemendaal this summer with my family to see some cousins and uncles of her's.
Anyway, Yea, the schematic I showed is for a 1.8T. Looks like you have a 2.0. That looks very easy to do with basic tools and keep some of the 220eu for a beer or 20 and go from there.
Good luck.

Ja alles gaat goed bedankt
Well, they told me that the manifold will have to be removed etc.
and im not that much of a mechanic so i dont really have a choice then..
The dealer would probably even charge more then this universal garage.
There go the beers..
but thanks!

That greeting is easy
As far as removing the intake, yes it opens up access, but not sure it is really needed. There is a vacuum line on the 1.8 that I have read where the "book" procedure is to remove the intake as well, but it can be done without. You will have to look at it yourself and decide. The issue may be the big part at the end that will not come out without removing the intake, but not sure
Good Luck and let us know.

Ik heb het een beetje druk gehad, maar mischien kan je me helpen met het volgende:
I had no other choice to bring the car in to the garage i couldnt reach it it was quite difficult.
So they replaced the hose yesterday and i drove it back home no probs.
They told me they had removed the alternator to do the job.
So today i drove home again and all of the sudden i get beeps and flashes!
ABS and battery light comes
on i was planning to get some petrol anyway so i parked the car at the filling station.
When i started, it turned on a bit difficult and i drove home.
After arriving i got my laptop and read the ECU
it said:
16946 - System Voltage Too Low
P0562 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - Intermittent
I mean how is this possible? It is a well serviced car and i never had any problems.
What did they do? did they mess up the alternator or something??
Garage is closed now i will go back imediatley in the morning because it looks like messed up something.
What do you think??

If you had a separate alternator belt, I would say the belt wasn't tight enough, so it wasn't turning the alternator, so you ran your battery down. Since it is one belt going around all your accessories, I would have thought you would have issues with PS if it was the belt. All that said, you should be able to grab the belt and see if it is loose. If it is, your problem should be easy to resolve.
Otherwise, it then points to the alternator "mysteriously" not functioning after the removal and replacement. That becomes suspicious.

Thanks, it would go for the last because the belt seems ok and the alternator is turning.
Perhaps they didnt connect it well, which is odd as they are a Audi/VW dealer..
