Default DTC code P1136/17544

Check engine light came on. Took it to my mechanic - came up with code P1136/17544.
Don't really notice that much change in driveability - maybe loss of horse power at times, and occasional rough start. I guess this code has to do with air intake system. System is too lean. Anyone have this problem recently??? I'm told it's probably the MAS - hope it is cause it's still covered under warranty.

Default Check the small black hose coming off the intake manifold, it might be broken.....

if you are facing the engine, the hose is on the inside of the manifold between the manifold and the engine cover. It is about the size of a straw. Mine was broken and throwing a code that the car was running lean

Thanks Chris - I'll have a look. To get at the hose, do I need to remove anyting?? I'm no mechanic - let me tell you!!! Would this hose cause the rough starts/loss of power??

Default Actually it is easy to locate....

looking at the intake manifold, look on the left side of it and you will see a small black fabric hose coming out of the inside curve (closest to the front of the car). The hose comes out and then loops back under the manifold and connects into a sensor...the break that I had was right after it came off the manifold connection. It is easy to find just kinda of a pain to fix, but it is a warrenty issue, so the dealer should be able to fix it.
It did not cause rough starts for me, but it did throw a code indicating that the car was running lean due to the fact that it was sucking in too much air.

Default Very common problem.....

hose gets hot and hardens and then cracks from the pressure. Glad to help.

Way too common! I'm looking to replace that crap with steelbraided lines...any known issues?

Default I agree...steel braided would get too hot though.....

how about the colored hoses, it seems to be a heavier material.
