Default Yeah I agree 100%. My brother's 530 and my father's 740 aren't even in the same league

with my car with all seasons on it. The 740's traction control comes on almost constantly in any amount of snow.

I'll take it a step further and say that quattro and other awd/4wd is better with all seasons than a FWD with snows. I've driven both in very serious conditions and always had an easier time in the AWD/4WD car.

Default Did you not ask this question about a month ago?

I suppose the only way you will learn is through experience. Just don't forget the crash helmet.

Default Based on a Car & Driver comparo a few years ago. A sticky snow tire will grip better than A/Ss

I had the Dunlop summer tires on last week when it snowed 6 inches here and I had absolutely no stopping power. The snow caked on the tires and the ABS was clicking over like an alarm clock.

http://www.caranddriver.com/xp/Caranddriver/features/1999/May/199905_feature_whatp.xml?&page=1</a

Default I just bought some winter tires today.....

from my Audi dealer. $160 a piece for Dunlop M2 Performance Winter Tires. We are supposed to get 3-8 inches of snow tomorrow in CT. I never got to test out the Dunlop Summer tires in the snow but from what I have heard it would have been a nightmare. Tomorrow should be fun.
