Default E-Code Housing vs. Full Kit (worth the hassel transferring components?)

Hey guys... was admiring the e-codes, but i must say i don't see a point in paying for expensive bixenon e-codes when i have bixenon's already...

so how hard is it to just buy the Valeo housings and transfer all the guts? I'm very scared i'd mess up and be out alot of money.

Is it really worth just buying the full factory Valeo setup?

Either way can any of you suggest a place to purchase either the housing or full kits? All i've stumbled across are very expensive marked up versions... i'm having trouble finding housing and kits that are reasonably priced.

Thanks for the help.

i had the same concerns as yourself when i purchased my ecodes. i decided to go s4 ecodes and i got them will all the internals so the install was a simple plug and play. i got them from pg performance for around $800US. However, i sold my stock xenons for $550 to a fellow aw member so the ecodes didnt end up being too expensive.

Default ahh ok, forgot i could sell these :-) but...

why did you go with the S4 e-codes vs. a4 e-codes?

Was the install truly plug and play? No problems with the different idea behind turn signals (i.e. in europe they only turn on when you are signaling, while in america they are always on, but also blink when you are turning)

thanks,

Default The swap of components from one assembly to another is quite simple...

And yes, retain as much of your original investment if you can and just swap.

DD just got his here.<ul><li><a href="http://www.achtuning.com/">Achtun!ng</a></li></ul>

Default quickie... why do i feel like i don't have bixenons?

I have the premium package on my car, and it's advertised as having bi xenons, but the high beams just don't look like they are xenons, rather they look like halogens... maybe it's just me... but on my dad's car (04 s500) both the low and high beam xenon have the same color and such.

Wouldn't want to sell someone bixenon headlamps that really weren't...

Default the term bi-xenon is misleading. Doesnt mean that your highs are xenons...

it means that when you turn on your highs, a door opens up over the low xenons that actually enable more light to come out of the projector

Default I'm sure everything will be fine...But read on if you dare...

For me, my so-called reputable outfit, f'd up 3 times.
#1 B5 ecodes
#2 B6 ecodes, halogen-R, B6 ecodes, xenon-L
#3 B6 ecodes, xenon-L.
#4 B6 ecodes, xenon-R...Finally Correct.

All in the past
