Default Engine oil sensor malfunction
This yellow warning light came on today and it got me worried. Can I safely drive around or is this serious?

Car has 4k miles on it.

Default well i'd certainly get it checked asap and avoid driving it anywhere else
who knows? are you running low? did you check your oil?

Oil level is fine. Light just came on tonight and service dont open 'til Mon.

Default ok it could be something else that is having an effect on your oil warning light.
get it checked first thing monday. don't drive the car.

Default It happened to me at 5,000 miles....
I kept checking the oil level and it was fine. I had to wait a week to take it in. Once I did, they replaced the sensor and that was it.

Default As R Flagg said...I had the same problem
the actual sensor was malfunctioning despite the fact that the oil level was fine. Dealer replaced the oil sensor and the problem went away. You have nothing to worry about.
