Default Almost like a goose honking?

Coming from the right rear of the vehicle? If so it's the fuel filter.

Default I know you've changed your DV but.........for what it's worth

I lifted this from Hoppen's website promoting a simple Bosch bypass valve. Does this describe your symptom?

From Hoppen:

"As stated in Audi's technical bulletin dated Dec. 8, 2000 the bypass valves should be replaced should the following occur: "Groaning or howling noise from engine compartment when accelerating during partial load between 2500-3000 RPM," or " Rattling noise when decelerating between 2000-3000 RPM," which "may be caused by the internal diaphragm of the charge pressure bypass valve producing pulsating noises."

Default It crossed my mind but I dont think it is, but I suspect its either the TB hose or my DV...

my TB o-clamp came off once and it sounded similar. kinda like a "bluhhh" when i launch from standstill.

Default Check DV hoses, esp. the In Hose, makesure DV is pushed all the way in. Most likely Vibrating Hoses.

Good luck hope this helps

Default If you just rev the engine without actually going anywhere...

Will it do it? What I mean is, if you place the car in neatral and rev it can you get it to make the same noise? If you can, then you can have someone rev it while you walk around the car to make sure. Good luck.
