The snub mount however will not address the trans mount if it is indeed shot. The snub and trans mounts are two different things.

there is a difference in the NVH between the two. Although I cannot say how much a difference having never tried the RS4 mounts.

front torque reaction snub mount. That mount is mainly responsible for controlling the motion of the engine/trans on the mounts from driveline reaction forces, and if defective, will result in the symptoms you described.
