EPC light (in car now)

Hi everyone,
I'm in the car now (my wife is driving) and we're heading back home in the middle of a 500 mile leg of our journey. In Death Valley, the EPC light went on and my car went straight to idle (assuming this is some sort of failsafe to prevent a malfunction from causing the car to go flat out). I pulled over and cycled the engine. The light is gone now but I'm wondering if there's anything I should be worried about or keep an eye on. The only other thing of note is that I had a coilpack fail 2 days ago but I keep spares in the car so it was a non issue. This is a 1.8TQ Tip.
Thoughts?

EPC (Electronic Powertrain Control) will light up is there is a fault in the:
1) Accelerator encoder (gas pedal)
2) Throttle body and/or throttle actuator
3) ECU
4) MAF
Prolly a simple throttle body adaption and cleaning might correct it.
Does not sound like a major problem...
