Was sitting in trafick yesterday on the way home, and the ESP light comes on. Had the same thing happen to me on the way to work after about 3 mins of driving. Any ideas why? Got the 03 A4 3.0

is it the same tool taht they use to read the Chek Engine light with?

It allows a person to get the codes, for the ESP light too.

sign of a soon to be dead battery. Replaced battery and magically no more ESP light. You have an 03 with likely the factory battery still. Either way its time for a new battery and worth a try. New battery from VW dealer was $103, could not find the $45 Walmart versions referred to when I STF. The amps were right, but the size was too small. You will also need very long hex key, 6 mm. Sears sells a t-handle set that is 8" long, 6" is too short.

I was playing with my scanner the other day on a 2011 Audi a 8 quattro. I ended up triggering something that set off a bunch of faults like steering wheel, esp, acc, sport differential, etc. Has anyone done this and knows the fix? I tried resetting the steering angle and clearing codes to no avail........heeeeeellllppppp! Thanks. I'm wondering if disconnecting the batt will do the trick.
