I've got an 2001 Audi A4. Recently the ESP light have been coming on sometimes as i start the car. This happens mostly when the weather is fine and the temp rises above 20 degrees celsius. The light the stays on for about 20 minutes and then goes of.
At the dealers they have tested the car with their instruments, and come up short. The only thing they can guess, is that there may be something wrong with the steering angle sensor.
I would appreciate any thoughts on this!

it was the steering angle sensor...but to get them to diagnose the problem I had to go to the dealership while the light was on...not easy unless the weather is cooperating.

I had a similar problem within the first week of getting my car- the ESP and ABS light would illuminate and stay on, despite shutting down and restarting. Dealer went through a long diagnosis (tech writer told me it was a pain in the ***) and replaced, IIRC, the steering angle sensor mount along with some other clip. Never had the problem since.
If the dealer is willing, ask them to just replace the parts.
