ESP.... On or Off?

Default Okay, so there's also a "slip/loss of control" threshold that ESP monitors using yaw sensors.

Still though, it takes much longer for ESP to kick in when it's off, and you never really know if it will re-activate itself in time to save you.

Basically, you shouldn't be thinking: "I can turn off ESP because it'll re-activate itself to save me if I'm in trouble."

Default Oh yeah I totally agree.

Did you mean that if ESP is turned off, it won't try to save you until you have the wheel locked?

One of the factors that ESP constantly monitors is the number of degrees the wheel is turned. If the wheel is locked at any serious speed (probably ~20mph), ESP will kick in.

Try it in a parking lot. Lock the wheel and go WOT.

Oh ok. I misunderstood you. I thought you meant while ESP is on.
