hey guys and gals,

why is it that everytime when the temperatures drop below freezing a coilpack dies in our 03 1.8TQ?

our car was in the shop twice last winter then on last monday she went in again. i got her back on thursday and today it died again. that makes it a grand total of four times for the same exact thing. my sister (owner) refuses to drive the car whenever it gets cold out.

what are my rights in NY? 3X = Lemon, right?

after the second time, audi did the recall and replaced all 4 coilpacks with the "Newly Redesigned" units.

on monday they replaced all 4 once again.

i don't know what they'll do today, but i'm sure it'll be a full replacement again.

bottom line is that my sister refuses to drive the car any longer when the temperatures drop below freezing. this should not be the case with a brand new car! my last audi never gave me any grief, and never spent any time in the shop.

4 separate times she was stuck in the middle of nowhere.

4 separate times she had to wait in the freezing cold for a tow truck.

4 separate times she was carless or in a rental for over a weeks time.

i'm not surprised that shes fed up. i would be too.

first time it doesnt say.. second and third time it says all 4 were replaced

I just don't think you have solid grounds for lemon. if your sister is scared to drive it, she might want to consider another car.

the full kit is Sportec. And if you miss your Audi, maybe you should buy your sisters ;o)
