Exhaust tips replacement

I recently purchased a 1.8T B6 A4.
Car is OEM aside from front and rear bumper and sides.
The car seemed to have being in some sort of accident because one of the exhaust tips is severely damaged.
So i was thinking about replacing them with some new ones to weld on.(also a bit bigger)
At first i thought i could just remove the 2 strips they welded.
Since the tips apparently are squeezed together a bit then a strip welded on.
But i then noticed the pipe and tip are one part.
So i was wondering if somehow could still replace them since repairing is no option.
Would put a new exhaust but, there is no exhaust available that comes with the correct paperwork for technical inspection.
Anybody got any knowledge about this?
Thanks
