Default Re: That's actually standard procedure for the radio...

Thanks for the advice, it makes sense. I just wanted to use this forum as a sounding board, as the collective experience here and differeing view points far exceeds what I would have though about on my own.

Default Makes sense...

They replaced my unit because the audio volume was jumping up and down rapidly in the summer (on hot days). They said they were getting error codes in the radio and replaced it. I was happy...until it happened again! I then found out that it's the AudioPilot, not the radio itself. Not sure about those error codes. Oh well - I haven't had any problems with this one, and if I do, it's still covered under warranty!

Default huh? how is it abuse of the warranty?

he offered to fix your radio, you said yes, so they replaced the head unit....seems like what you would want them to do (people here have griped about dealers refusing to replace things like that).

as for the extended warranty, to be honest, any work they do doesn't cost you a cent, so don't be worried about them doing extra...be worried about them not doing enough. In my experience though, Audi is usually pretty good about honoring 3rd party warranties, but its something you should talk about with the service advisor (ie he can tell you whether or not that specific dealer will honor the warranty)
