Default flashing oil icon in information display?

on the way home after a drive on the highway (about 25 miles or so) the car displayed an oil graphic in the information display.. it was animated, but no red/yellow oil indicator icons were up.. just the information display.

had an oil change yesterday.. almost 60k miles, 10k services.. 5k oil changes up to about 40k miles..

anyone familiar with this oil graphic? never seen it before, and nothing showed up with search. car is making a sputtering sound.. neighbor asked if my car was a diesel..

That's not good. Did you check the oil level?

Default i let the car cool down a bit..

may still have been too warm.. but it looked like there was too much oil inside.. the oil stick sucks, but oil was way up the stick.

Default i just checked the levels again

iirc, the level is supposed to be between halfway to under the indents.. this was an inch too far..

also, the sputtering is coming from what seems like underneath the engine cover.. i was worried it may have been timing belt.
