No, this isn't about bling.
Hey all. I got in my 03' A4 earlier tonight and drove off from the theater where I just saw Transformers, which rocked... and my idle became rough at the same time my engine light started flashing.
Sweet.
I'm 600 miles out of warranty and I'd guess this is a coil pack issue. Is there something else this could be? But I am wondering, since Audis are so prone to this sort of thing is there any sort of warranty on coil packs that extends beyond the 48k?
Thanks!

Yes, I think that the coilpacks are emissions related, so the warranty is for a longer period.
but it is only as pertains to emissions related parts. Certain 'O3s where subject to a recall also, based on VIN. And, if the coils packs installed are already replacements, then the warranty on the coilpacks themselves, may still be in effect. If they where already replaced under warranty, an Audi dealership should be able to pull the history. If subject to the recall, but never replaced, then the recall should still be available. But if none of the above applies, then like already suggested get a set of "E" version Hitachi B5 coilpacks instead. Search for "Hitachi" and "E versions" etc on AW.

One CP has been replaced. How long is emissions warranty in effect?
And is that really emissions related? Where's the expert on this?
The car is a lease and I'm returning it in August. So the least amount of cash I can spend on it, the better!
Thanks!
