But it can be argued that increased intercooler capacity allows for more boost and ignition timing advance to be used, compared to the stock unit. Thus, more torque and hp.

100%!! besides the better cooling they replace a few stock hoses with some nice

More intercooler capacity is money well spent. Comapred to ...
the cost/benifit ratio of an upgraded exhuast system, better intercooling will provide more benifits for less cost, and should be added first.
