Default Is it on the inside or the outside for starters?

If it's on the inside you might be in trouble. If it's on the outside there is a good product which can help actually and unfortunately I forgot the name of it. It's a two step process like a polish for your paint but made specifically for headlights.

Default Answers.

1. Because they just are.
2. Search for "o-ring fix"

Default Search for "condensation" and "ecode" on this forum.

Should keep you occupied for at least 30 minutes.

Default Ok then that wasn't what I was getting at....

the product I was talking about is for permanently hazy lights that have discolored over time.

Default ok, maybe im crazy

but unless he did the CC mod, he might not have an inside problem, it may just look like it. dunno.

In any case, I'd give them a good claying, and an application of Plexus.

Its a good first step at least

Default Other than a very occasional light misting that clears soon after, heavier condensation inside....m

the housing lens is the result of a water leak into the headlight. For standard NA spec DOT housings, the main cause of the leak is the rear housing cover gaskets. A defect with the lens to housing joint seal bond is another potential path for water into the housing.
The remedy involves the identification and repair of the water leak into the housing, and then completely drying the moisture accumulation in the bottom of the housing.
Any condensation that is persistent, and severe enough to obscure the light clarity through the lens is abnormal. If under warranty, request the headlight be replaced.
Audi specifies that "occasional light misting", that clears spontaneously, is normal. Any water condensation that is composed of large water drops covering a major part of the lens area, and persisting for more than one day, is defective, and justifies warranty replacement of the affected headlight assembly.
