As a follow up to my earlier post re: what I had done to my ride today...The Allroad is gone.
Sbhtuned, Awadd9 and Turbosport guessed correct on my earlier post. I'm excited to announce that my non-sport A4 which has be mascarading as an Allroad is stock no more (gee I feel like a Dad proud that his child just learned how to spell his name).
Thanks to Dick Shine, his son and Eli at Shine Racing my ride is now sporting new Bilstien shocks and Eibach springs. The ride height is 25 1/2" for both the front and rear which is a big difference in comparison to the stock non-sport ride height of 27" in front and 26 1/2" in the rear. The drop looks great and its not crazy low so she'll still be able to handle the crappy New England roads.
Ride performance wise I noticed right away that it is tighter than the OEM shocks and springs but also that feel is not very harsh which is what I feared the most not ever having a car with an aftermarket suspension set up. I definately feel more of the smaller bumps in the road but I also feel that the car is more "one with the road" than it was prior to the upgrade.
Dick Shine was really great. He does tons of work on Audi's and VW's but had never done a suspension job on the B6 3.0 (he mostly does work on B5's and B6 1.8T) so he was really excited to see and experience the before and after ride himself.
Sorry no pics yet. Car is caked with salt after Monday's Nor-easter. Will take and post soon.
Can't wait until Spring so that I can shed the 16's for some new to me 17s or maybe, just maybe if I'll crazy enough some 18s.

It's probably a hair lower than stock sport package from '02. Much lower than '03 and beyond
which I believe had different springs than the '02s.

you said you took a corner too fast... if that's the case it would've happened with any size wheel..
maybe I'm wrong?
anyway... in the NorthEast if you're going from 16"s to 17"s...no big deal.
it's when you go up to 18"s and larger you have to start driving much more cautiously pothole-wise.

Thats great to hear,,,
Its researching that mod that has brought me to AW. I also have '02 a4 3.0 with base suspension and am looking into doing the same thing. I was going to install Eibachs ( for the same reason, not wanting the car to be to low, good old New England roads, I am in Ct.)and koni's , I had heard that the Billsteins are a much rougher ride. Now , after hearing you I will look into those also.

Having never driven on Koni's I don't know what to say about the comparison between
Koni's and Bilstien's. The ride now is a little rough than the stock non-sport set up but not as bad as I had feared. I definately feel the road more with this set up.
Compared to pictures I researched on the forum, the ride height looks similar to what other 3.0's look like after getting the same set up. On the lighter 1.8Ts I'm sure the ride height would have been a little higher.
