Found this by (bad) luck today when I parked the car. Looks like a nail, but a very uneven looking head. Possibly a wierd angle that it went in at. No idea how long it's been in there, but looks like it's fairly worn already. I didn't try to pull it out, as most tire shops are closed today with it being Canadia Day up here.
But you think I should leave it be? I'm driving out to a BBQ about 50km south of home tonight.
Or let the finace drive her car tonight and take it to a shop and try to pull it out tomorrow? As I said, I think it's been in there a while and haven't lost any air yet.
Thoughts?

It'll definetly go flat almost immediately...
Let the tire shop deal w/it and they won't have any problem finding the hole. Go with a patch on the interior. Me no likey, plugs.

I couldn't help myself. I had to pull it out. I figured worse case scenario, I'd run the spare and take the tire in tomorrow.
So, grabbed the pliers and started pulling. And noticed... thread! Not a nail, a screw. So started backing it out with the pliers and it came out pretty quick.
Good news is, didn't lose any air. Looks like it went in at ~ 45 degrees, and along the large ridge of the tire tread. So, I think it'll be OK.
Buy guesstimating the depth of the screw into the radius of the tire, based on the angle the head was worn, it looks like like about 1.4cm or half an inch.
I will watch it for the next few days for air leaks, but looks OK for now.
The culprit (you can see the angle it was at by the wear on the head - runs almost parallel with the gap between my fingers):

but first, spray windex or wd 40 on it and look for bubbles. if no bubbles, you are safe for a short while.
BUt I wouldnt have taken it out. i would have just made sure the jack was in the car and that your emergency brake worked properly just in case.
