Default Very interesting, I think I will try this (just lemme get something straight)

plus if anything goes wrong i have a nice 4 year warranty so everyhting is covered.

When i first get the car for the first 200 km i keep low rpms.

(i'm in canada, so lets us km)
anyways, does this mean shifting below 4000 rpm i would assume.

Then after than i go WOT, shift, WOT, shift, WOT, etc... for a week or to, basically driving like mad. until the engine has at least 500 km on it or so. so baby it for 200km, WOT for 300 km and after that the break in is done ?

Warranty won't help much...an engine that's not properly "broken-in", isn't considered "broken"

Default Yeah, there is a big shut up policy; but there is some stuff leaking out. My friend at Weissach

told me to pound the cars off the showroom floor. This post seems to confirm the same approach. Seriously, I appreciate the input from all sides. Just having fun.

Default That's not too bad if the consumption has tappered off!

Audi will tell you that 1 quart per 1K miles is acceptable to them and they usually won't touch the engine to resolve it. Has your last half quart been over a few thousand miles? If so, then I sure wouldn't worry about it. Audi engines do consume oil, some more than others. I would still check oil more often then waiting for the low oil level light to come on....why chance a cooked engine for a faulty sensor someday!
