Default Frikin Brake Lights!

I took my baby in for 45k service about a month ago. A week after I brought it in my rear left brake light went out and of course I get the lovely yellow dash lights about it every time I start my car. I take my car in a week later and the dealership took care of it no problem. Well last weekend I go to startup my car and now my RIGHT brake light is out!

Has this happened to others? I hope this is not a sign of things to come...

Default its not that unusual

everytime you brake, both lights come on. So, its not unusual that both would need replacing around the same time since they get an equal amount of use.

Default It's just an inconvenient coincidence, That is why I always replace tail/stop lamps in pairs,

even though only one of them is burned out. I figure that if one burned, the other has equal on/off cycles and has been stressed as much. So, in effect, when one lamp fails, then "both have failed", and get replaced together. If I have to dismount a taillight housing to replace a bulb, the best plan is to replace ALL of the taillight lamps in that housing. (However, practice has not yet complied with the policy on my Avant. )

Why pay the $$ for the light bulb etc when they can do it for free

Default Time/inconvenience of going to the dealer....

I keep a spare set in my glove box so I can easily replace. Granted I'm out of warranty now, but it still beats driving to the dealer and waiting on them to do it.

Default happens all the time - it's probably not even the bulb either...

My car says front bulb is out every so often... then it turns off the warning and the blinker works again...

think it's just the harness is lose or something. Haven't had time to check on it
