Front brake rotor rusting?

I was washing my car the other day...and my driver side brake rotor had rust on it...Why does this happen? Can I do anything about it?

All your rotors will do it. Just drive and it will be gone after 2 sec of braking.

totally normal.

Yup. Just superficial oxidation from the water getting on them.
