Default Front Passenger Door Won't Open From Inside (Child Safety?)

My dealership offered to drop off my car and lock the key inside the car while I was on a trip. They managed to do that somehow but now I'm left with a front passenger inside door latch that won't work at all. The door can only be opened from the outside. The dealer doesn't work on weekends so I can't call them up until Tuesday.

Does anyone know if this some kind of hidden trick that they used? And any ideas how to fix it?

Any ideas is appreciated. Thanks.

normally you just lock the doors, and throw the keys inside, and close. no trickiness.

Had the same problem - the steel thing that connects lever to the door lock is probably broken.

Default tech accidentally disconnected the pull cable...

they have done it to me a few times. annoying, but trivial. i had to learn to chivalrously (?) open and close the door for my wife from the outside.
