I have a auto Quattro B6 A4 that I'm converting into an FSI manual 6 speed. I am selling the original drive train and need a list of parts of what exactly I need for this conversion.
So far I need: Engine, transmission, axles, flywheel/clutch, complete harness/fuse box, ECU, Ignition module, Instrument cluster. I think I need a drive shaft and spindles? What other parts do I need? Pics coming soon.

Well, I was talking to Dave down at Eurocode and he's been telling me how much more efficient the FSI engines are. How much more power potential they have. Their fuel economy. How FSI is an all around a better engine. I was also told it would cost more to get the same power from a modified 1.8T. Please tell me this is wrong I don't want to open a can of worms here.

That is quite the interesting parts list that you have .. wouldn't it make more sense that if you want this engine that you would purchase a car with this engine already installed .. ie a B7.
As a casual observer (never having done something of this magnitude myself) I would say that you are going to spend a heck of lot more to install and modify a 2.0 than you would to just modify a 1.8T .. and yes you would also be opening up one big can of worms in the process. Are the guys at Eurocode actually advocating that you do this???

I have a B6 1.8T Quattro with tiptronic auto. I've looked into this myself, and I ASSURE YOU, it is completely not worth it. You will end up getting yourself in more trouble than it's worth. Installing a Manual transmission would require extra cuts in the firewall for the clutch different steering wheel, and a whole lot more stuff you never thought you'd need. It is NOT worth it. Just buy a new B7 manual with the 2.0T

Did anyone tell you about the FSI failing fuel pumps since they run off of the cam?
