I was kind of thinking that, too, but...
Anything that will help pull air through can only help. But ideally, yes, when the DSMIC is sitting right in front of the vents, it would be more beneficial there. I actually worry that turbulance caused by larger volumes of air coming in from the fog vent was one of the things that prevented good air from flowing through my FMIC. I wanted that air to get in to the bay, but not wreak havoc on the center FMIC/RAD/-A/C, so I did my best to separate that stuff out with shields.
