Gas, brake pedal height difference

Hi All
I've got an A4 CVT which I love except for the height difference between the gas and the brake pedal. Does anyone know of any thicker or modified gas pedals to get around this. I have a bad hip from a bike accident and the A4 is actually getting painful to drive. But if I drive my wife's Accord for the day, with no major difference in pedal difference, my hip is fine.
Any thoughts?

and there may be some spacers available that will give an inch or so. Google 'pedal extender'.
But the reason for the difference is to give a 'tactile difference' between the brake and gas. Every since the 60Minutes crap, Audi has been very careful about this thing.
My old '83 Audi had a spacer fitted to raise the brake an inch, as part of some recall or thing. Took it off and several months later almost drive thru the garage!
