Default gas fill-up !!!

So I try to put gas in my 1.8T other day while friend is searching for something in trunk. Damn car seemed as if gas tank was full.--gas nozzle kept tripping off ! tried several times with no sucess. was about to try another service station, when trunk was shut then I tried one more time. Low and behold I'm able to fill-up as normal. What the hell did Audi do ! Has anyone else experienced this? I hope this isn't some damn "safety feature". maybe I'm venting but Audi(and most of auto manuf.s) seem to be overcomplicating things = -more devices to fail down the road. One day I may lock myself up in room with factory service manual and figure out a way to disable/remove all extra sensors/devices that are not crucial to a performance car. Anyone else have any thoughts on this ?

Default actually, was probably fluke, the way intake is designed, you have to hold fuel pump

at a high angle to fill up, or the air lock will keep tripping and it will keep turning off, once youre used to it though, it works everytime.

I've opened my trunk while pumping gas and I never had the pump stop. Probably a faulty pump sensor.
