Getting CEL

Pulled the codes and I got a return of secondary air system fault on bank 1 and bank 2. Those are the only codes in the system. Cleared them both and ran the car as normal, cel returned within a week. Not sure what the secondary air system is, but I'm assuming its probably a clean air injection system for each exhaust manifold or something like that. The run runs fine, but I'm due for a sticker this month so it must be fixed.
Is this likely a part or parts that must be replaced, bad fuse, plugged up vacuum hose or something altogether different? Can anyone offer suggestions for a DIY diag so I can correct the issue please?
Thanks in advance.

the solution for your V-6 may be located elsewhere. I had that code and found the culprit to be a vacuum hose cracked at the clamp to the secondary air pump (or valve, I forget). Mine was at the back of the engine, but the location on the V6 will surely be different.
I had a CEL, but no noticeable performance changes.
