Default GIAC Big Injectors (FX) Dyno results

MNAudi just had a dyno day at RS Motors in Burnsville, MN. About 15 cars were dyno'd. Here are the results for my '03 A4 1.8T w/GIAC big injectors and software. Other than the chip and injectors, the car is stock performance-wise.

edit: Fuel was BP 92 (non-oxygenated)

Not quite what I was expecting... peaks at 200ft/lb and 150hp.

Here's the boost graph (from a different pull, but all three were very similar)

Default Were there other comparable car there? Hard to compare results without some baseline

Could you explain the boost graph a little?

Default Found this on KTR's site (they also have a DD dyno)-

The same setup on a Dynojet does about 190 awhp, and 250 awtq.

Default Not really, most were S4s (more)

The closest car was probably a B5 A4 but I forget what his setup is (maybe GIAC X chip) and he made about 190ft/lb and 160hp peak (or near there). Most of the cars were stage 1/2 S4s.

About the boost graph, my understanding is that it's the same as the other graph, but with time (not rpms) as the X axis. Also, mph and boost are added on the graph. You can see I spike at 19psi at the beginning (green line) and bottom out at just under 10psi at redline.

I was running the normal GIAC program earlier; just got the big injectors a week or two ago. It certainly feels stronger than before, boost comes on much harder and quicker. It seems that power tapers off more than with the other program, so I've started shifting earlier and it feels pretty good. Throttle is much harder to control, it wants to GO when you barely press the accelerator, and the last 3/5 of the pedal makes no difference. Fuel economy has diminished dramatically, but that may be because I have a heavier foot now

Overall I'm happy, and am probably going to get exhaust/intake and FMIC in the mid-near future.

Ahh.

Did you look at the plot I posted from KTR?

It looks just like yours.

Default Based on this dyno from AWE a stock B6 A4 1.8T makes 132WHP on the load bearing Mustang machine.

Also on this dyno sheet the power train loss for the B6 A4 is stated to be 28%. So the stock car at 132X1.28=168.96HP at the crank on 93Oct and Bananas results at 152.7X1.28=195.46CHP I hope this info helps since it is from the same exact kind of a dyno and not a dynojet. You have gained 26.5HP over stock and at 195.46CHP that is not too shabby.

Bananas what type of fuel did you use 91Oct or 93Oct?

Cheers,

David Sarabi

Yeah, they're close. I didn't realize there could be that much of a difference between dynos.

Default Fuel used was BP 92 (non-oxy)

Here in MN all pump gas has various levels of ethanol so I get the "off-road" non-oxygenated stuff.

There is a lot to "Calibrating" a Mustang.

AWE, Matrix and GIAC have all spent much time to make all of their results similar.

Without a baseline from the Mustang dyno used it is hard to say where his car stock would fall.

Let's be nice. It has been peaceful lately.
