Default GIAC Flashloader now available for B6 1.8T

<center><img src="http://www.awe-tuning.com/media/products/giac/flashloader_montage.jpg"></center><p>
The laptop/PC based version of GIAC's exciting new Flashloader technology has now been released. Several Flashloaders were installed on B6 1.8Ts over this past weekend at Waterfest.

Flashloader is uploaded to the vehicle via the OBD port, and allows the user to switch between prepurchased programs with a laptop or PC and scan tool cable.

Coming in a few weeks is a Handheld unit that allows switching without the use of a laptop or PC. The handheld plugs directly into the OBD port of the vehicle and switching between programs is done with the press of a button. The Handheld uses the OBD port for power, so no extra cables are needed; simply plug and push!

To install the switching software, the vehicle must be brought to us or one of our authorized GIAC flash centers. Contact us for info on the center local to you.

Pricing for 1.8T cars, including Laptop/PC based switcher software:

Performance flash program $495
Actual stock flash program $50 additional
Kill and Valet program package $100 (if available)
Race Fuel program $100

Handheld switcher unit $100 (Availability in early August)

There is a 100% trade-in discount for current GIAC chip owners.

Please contact us directly for program availability and a list of authorized flash centers.

I wonder when/if a tuner will show the 3.0 some "flash" love?

Default For people already chipped, installing this wouldn't make the chip 'invisible' right?

I'm assuming that the stealership could tell that there was a chip installed at one point.

Also, is there a log of 'uploads' -- meaning can the stealership tell when programs are uploaded if they dug deep enough. And is the 'stock' program your TRUE STOCK software that it pulled off your car or is it a mirror image of a stock program.

Here is a scenario.....if the stealership has your car and reflases with a new stock update....can you pull that down , upload your GIAC software? Before your next service, can you re-upload the EXACT copy of the stock software that they installed last time? If not, there are still some exposure points.

Default Did you originally have to purchase the chip from AWE to get the 100% trade in?

i have a giac in my current a4, that i would get the flash loader. Do you put the stock chip back in? Or is the stock program then also added to the original GIAC chip installed
