Given the chance, would you trade your '02 A4 3.0QMS for a new '02 S4?

since the 3.0 = 220hp + 6 speed
and the s4 = 250hp + 6 speed
it's kinda close but still in favor of the s4
but if we were talking ~315 hp, whole new ball game

For me, the revisions made to the new A4 were exactly what I was looking for. More power (than the 2.8), better ride quality and handling, larger/more luxurious interior, more features, etc.
In the end, I didn't need the extra power of the S4. The 3.0 seemed like a better overall package and made more sense for what I was looking for. Just my humble opinion...
Are you trying to decide on a purchase?

Well, here's what's going on, i'd like your input.
About a month ago I was in the market for a 2002 S4, however every dealer I visited told me it was impossible to get one, so I endedup buying a '02 A4 3.0LQMS fully loaded. It's a great car and I love it, but it was the next best thing since I couldn't get the S4.
Now, I found a place that has several S4's and am considering trading in my A4 for a new 2002 S4. I've never driven an S4, i'm just a huge fan of the look, performance and twin turbo engine. I'm kind of undecided, I have the means for doing the switch since I initially was going to buy the S4, but i'm not sure...it's hard to choose after driving the A4.
The dealer is like 200 miles away so it's not a trivial drive, but I'm considering seeing what the approximate difference would be by phone, and then going and taking a closer look.

Like I said, the new A4 was the better package for me, but your tastes could be different. If you want that extra power, the S4 is still a great choice. However, I think that after driving your A4, you'll find the S4 interior to be a bit dated and the ride quality to be somewhat rougher. I also liked the shift action in the A4 better, but that's pretty subjective.
It's a tough decision. How about holding on to your A4 and getting a new S4 when they arrive? That would be the best of both worlds...
