the glove box compartment on my Audi 2002 got stuck last night. it turns out that the hinge towards the door side doesn't retract when you pull the handle. I was able to open up the glovebox compartment door by removing the side panel and pushing the hinge inside with my finger; but now i have to do that every time i need to open it. Any ideas if i can fix that problem by myslef. Or do I have to take it to the dealer and pay an arm and a leg?

Hey Tonny, I think I didn't explain my problem the right way. It's not the hinge that hold the cover that is broken. It's the piece of metal that pops out of the cover on both sides and holds the cover shut.
Do you know if I can remove the plastic outside part of teh cover and see the lock mechanism inside?
It seems to me that these to piecves are glued to each other. Am I right?

half of what dealer would want... if your mechanism is screwed id say it would be worth while to buy a whole new one, wouldnt want it happening again.....
