glove box will not open
2002 A4. The glove box latch has broken. Small arm behind the lock mechanism, which also fell out in my hands. How do I open the glove box to get things out and fix the latch?

I was able to open the glove box. The closer I looked at the latch the more I realized that the whole thing was broken, so I "removed" the latch. After that was out of the way, it was pretty clear that the locking mechanism just needed to slide to the right. I took a small screw driver and inserted into the slot that normally would be behind the latch and slide it to the right. I was able to get to the things I need inside. Now to replace the latch....
