Standing up to the US is one way to try and increase stature in Europe. It took years and many battles to write the US constitution.

Both sides are acting like children trying to divvy up room in the sandbox !

I just get what I am feed from NPR. They have covered many segments on France in the past few months. US trade with France is very important. We buy a lot of luxury items from France (wine/cheese/hotels) and the hurt relations between the US and France has reduced consumption. This is not good for either country in the long run.

Also - it seems that we are finding many documents in the blown up building that show how France and Russia (to name a few) violated many peace agreements and trade agreements.

It is hard to know what to think. I tend to judge everyone based on who they are as an individual. If you visit these countries and meet the citizens you will see that almost everyone wants the same thing. Pease. Why can't we just all get along? We only have one sandbox Earth.
