Default on-going issue - dash noise

I have had an on-going issue with a mechanical noise behind the HVAC/headunit - near the glove box.

Service diagnosed it as HVAC not working correctly - flaps aren't opening and closing properly. They've replaced the HVAC computer and the flap motor, which controls airflow. The noise has recently returned. The dealer has a call into AoA at this point.

The sound is similar to CDs shuffling - but it isn't the headunit. The sound is present after starting the car - regardless of the radio or HVAC being on or off. It also continues temporarily after the car is turned off - any ideas?

Default Sounds like your Air Recirculation door is making noise....whether it's the motor or door I'm not

sure but that's typically the only door that moves when you first start the car and after you've shut down the car.

Default yes - they've replaced that motor - and it went away (for a week).

Found a few others with similar problems:

p.s. reflashed today - no more CEL

Default I hear that noise too...it only comes on for a bit, I thought it was normal

and we actually have a motor that moves the flaps in the HVAC. They're usually driven off vacum from the vacum booster by the master cylinder...interesting.

Default we should try to swap HVAC control modules sometime to see if it goes away.....

does it happen everytime you turn the car on/off?
Glad the CEL is gone!

Mine does the exact same thing, all the time. I just figured it was normal.
