some damage, to its right or left side, not completely totaled but pretty badly damaged. Do you REALLY save some money? or is it something that you spend money on and then never really get anything out of it. I was just browsing an EBAY auction and I saw a brand new M3 which had been in an accident and it had substantial damage to its right side, the airbag had also deployed. THey were selling it for 15,000. Would you really be saving money on buying it and then fixing it up. Likewise, i saw an S4 which was badly damaged which would also need fixing up to do. Thoughts??

if the frame has been damaged, the car will never be the same, no matter how much work is done. that's why most folks who end up in bad accidents hope the car gets "totalled" rather than repaired.
of course, there may be more than $15K of spare parts in the m3 ...
