Default Is this a good quote for a new A4?

Hi I am getting a new A4 soon, and have been in contact with some dealers. I want a fully loaded A4, 1.8T, Quattro, Manual without Onstar. I received one quote for about 31,000 plus TAX and title.
How low were you guys able to push the prices with your dealer? I am not sure where my lowest target could be at this point, so I am looking for some base to compare.
Thank you,

dombi

Default Re: shoot for invoice plus $1500 max

I am not quite sure what the invoice price is for this config that I have. I tried some places, like Edmunds, and they had
$29,746 for the invoice price. Also without the metallic paint (such as for a Brilliant Black A4) the invoice on Edmunds was $29,345.Do these numbers sounds right?
So if I tried to get it down to around $30,000 plus TAX would that sound reasonable?

Thank you,

dombi

Default Can you wait a few months? 2004s will start becoming available in a few (3-5) months..

2004s with 1.8T and Quattro/Manual will have a 6-speed transmission. Also the interior trim will return to the aluminum that was available in the 2002. It looks better than the fiber glass IMO.

Default I wouldn't pay a penny over invoice for an 03 at this point in time...

May as well wait or get a killer deal on your 03.

Around 3 to 5% over invoice. See edmunds for invoice pricing.

Default I am sorry...but am I missing something?

Are salesman working at dealerships not allowed to make any money?. You want people deciding whether or not you get 100% of your current salary?. There is a win-win solution...salesman are people too, that have bills just like everyone else. I don't work at a new car dealer..but I am a broker for used audis. My suggestion is to take advantage of the Audi loyalty discount..and get a deal of $1K over invoice..THEN the new car salesman at least has a mini-deal. Remember, it takes the same work for a salesman on a deal where they make $250..or if they sell a car at MSRP.
