Me too. Was at a mostly VW event this fall and they are big on it now.
I thought it was the ugliest thing ever and I hope our cars never get cheapened up like that. To each his own, I guess, but the sad thing is that when B6 A4's start seeing lots of stretch, I'd bet those of us without it but with something like tinted windows get pulled over more, because cops will start profiling us all in to the same category if we're not bone-stock. I knew the day would come when B6's off of lease would be cheap enough for the stretch 'n poke kids to be buying them up. Argh.

sure enough my friend's car is a Mk4 GTI...
and yes I have noticed this is a definite trend. Hanging out with him and his vee dub friends, they all have the stretched tires and I think it's retarded.
