neither of us really launched hard off the light, but after he found out i was testing him...he gave me a little show to about 50. if my car does 60 in 6.9, that thing seems like it does it in 5ish...should be about right. i think i'll pass on a supercharger now...doesnt make sense to spend thousands and still get burned by a neon. besides, the 3.0 is quick enough for me =)
ps. i'm not hatin on ppl who mod 1.8T's...boost all you want
just not worth it for 3.0's imo, performance-wise.

I've found it difficult to compare cars that are made for tuning, and cars that really aren't. The A4 is, by most standards, a luxury car that has a sporting gene spliced in. The SRT-4 is nothing but a performance Neon. Those who modify their A4's are a VERY small percentage of the A4 community (probably the same percentage that would, say, modify a Porsche or MB). But, if it makes you feel better, you also out wiegh the SRT-4 by about 700 pounds. I wonder how he would have done in the snow...

I know JsprZ's post was a whimsical complaint about lack of power, but I don't think that's why MOST people buy "expensive" Audi's. Especially since, for the same price, you can get an AWD Evo or WRX STi with tremendouse power and performance. The Neon was designed as a boy-racer performance car. The A4 was designed as a solid, safe, sporty, very comfortable automobile, with a touch of status symbol thrown in. Different cars for different purposes.
My neighbor has a Honda Civic that he claims will run the 1/4 mile faster than a Ferrari. That's great, man, but I'll take a "slow" Ferrari over a fast Honda anyday.

And trust me, if you race that POS Neon on turns or in a track, you'll outrun his little **** in corners like no tomorrow!! I bought my A4 not for drag purpose... for track purpose.

We race 2 2004 SRT-4s on the track here in Colorado and they are running away with the competition. One with a Stage II is upwards of 330 HP and is set to blow away a supercharged Acura NSX with about $100,000 invested in it. Check out the link...
