and complain or just try and figure this out on my own. What needs to be done..does it need to be reprogrammed. Any advice is appreciated

If they disconnected the battery, the key just needs to be re-sync'd. Easy to do:

1. Put key in ignition
2. Turn to the ON position (not start)
3. Press the lock/unlock buttons on the key fob a few times
4. Turn key to OFF position and remove
5. Now key should be sync'd.

If you have your owner's manual it will also be in there as what to do if the battery is disconnected..I had this happen too.
