Yes, I have a 6spd too, but your V6 is making max power at max revs
Don't be afraid to run it to the limiter (just shy of it), you'll get the most out of it. Not so with the 1.8T, it gets a bit wheezy after 5500

personally i have a much bigger problem with people going 10-15 under the speed limit
then those going over....
when im crusing at 80 (in a 65) in the HOV lane and the person in front of me switches out of the way revealing the person doing like 45 in the left lane... i go absolutely insane on them
